I have 'strummed' a guitar for years. From my very first lesson with John Welch I started to 'play' the guitar. I have learned many new techniques and an understanding of the instrument with John's focused and structured methods but, at the same time , every lesson is relaxed and fun. Highly recommended. Guitar lessons with John are great fun, interesting and challenging.  He is a skilled guitarist, and devises his lessons around my musical preferences but also inspires me to try new musical areas.  I find that he is flexible in his methodology with regard to music theory, and selective in choosing what will best suit his students’ goals.  In particular, John has improved my guitar playing by giving me a variety of exercises to develop the guitar techniques that I want to learn and which he demonstrates for me first slowly then very fast. I would recommend John as a guitar teacher to everyone.  He is a very nice guy!
